First the tree died (for no apparent reason)...

...then we had one of our famous patio-furniture-knocking-over storms, and the tree was completely uprooted.

Our now treeless yard...

Bye, bye tree...we'll miss you! Let the fighting over a new tree begin... :D

Bowler's Invade the Grand Canyon

It is not easy (to say the least) to coordinate the schedules of this many people for a summer camping trip/reunion. But, in one of those rare occurrences, the stars aligned and we were able to pull it off. (I say we, even though all I did really was show up... :) Kathie found a really great group campsite near the Grand Canyon, so 24th of July weekend, the invasion began.

This is almost the whole family at the Grand Canyon...I believe we are missing only 3 (and Laura, who was taking the picture).

Sunset at the Canyon

Being the photographic slacker that I am (I rely heavily on the pictures of others), I didn't even get out my camera until most of the out-of-towners had left. Sorry I didn't get more pictures of everybody!

Disc Golf...a staple of all camping trips.

Heidi and Kathie did an AMAZING job planning, organizing and supplying this trip, in a SERIOUSLY small amount of time. They are rock stars! Kathie even put together this super cute, super information board for us. (the wind was blowing so I asked Preston to hold it for me)

Sunday, before we headed home, we took the kids back to the Canyon for a family hike.

Can you find the Colorado River in this picture?

Everyone was hot and tired, but we finished the hike!

This was our first camping trip without Grandma Bowler, and we really really missed her, but we really loved getting to spend time all together!

Camp Geronimo

Spencer's first scout camp...he went July 3 through the 10th. He wasn't excited about missing the 4th of July, or David's birthday, but thankfully, he had fun! Hooray for good leaders...especially ones that take lots of pictures!
The brave souls who took these boys to scout camp, Bro. Wilkins, Bro. Vaughan and Bro. Tucker (not pictured here because he was the photographer).

And, the boys...
(Spencer is in the background of the last picture with the towel over his head...ha ha ha!)
